I think it was the warm glow and expression that drew me to this image. Don't let photo shop scare you. It can become your best friend. I will equate it to becoming familiar with your darkroom and it's equipment. Go and play.

Very nice! The best way to learn photoshop is just to mess with it at first. Familiarize yourself with the program before reading tutorials and such. Get a feel for it, then go for the specifics.
